Human-Centered Computing Lab

Hi, Welcome to my HCC lab site.

Our goal is to develop innovative methodologies for understanding and enhancing the interaction between humans and sociotechnical systems. The aim is to create technologies that are innovative and deeply attuned to human needs and behaviors.

Interdisciplinary approaches, including advanced computing techniques, quantitative analysis, qualitative user studies will be employed for a holistic examination of human perception and cognition, to decipher the complex interactions between humans and sociotechnical systems. The insights are applied for decision-making and creating intuitive and empowering digital applications. By focusing on user-centered computing, we ensure that technology serves to augment human potential, while being transparent and under control.

• ISCRAM Xiaoying and Anirban's work " Dynamic Fusion of Large Language Models for Crisis Communication" is accepted by the Information Systems for Crisis Response and Management conference(ISCRAM 2025).
• ASIS&T Dr. Hong is invited to deliver two tutorials "AI-assisted Communication" and "Applications of LLMs in Library Information Organization" in ASIS&TIDEA Institute 2025
• iConference Dr. Hong organizes a workshop "Large Language Models for Library Information Organization" in iConference 2025, with Jason Thomale from UNT Libraries, Charlene Chou from NYU Libraries, and Jiangping Chen from UIUC.
