I am an Associate Professor of Data Science in the College of Information at the University of North Texas, with an affiliated appointment in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering. I direct the Human-Centered Computing Lab, where I study human-centered natural language processing, human–AI collaboration, and AI adoption. My research focuses on developing AI systems that can support people in high-stakes and information-intensive contexts, including crisis communication, misinformation response, information access, and decision-making. My goal is to design socially aware and context-sensitive AI systems that are not only technically robust, but also responsive to human needs, behaviors, and real-world environments.
